Helping Labour to break the class ceiling
About the Campaign
The Labour Campaign for Social Justice exists to help the party leadership break the class ceiling. We will give party members with lived experience of social injustices a network of support, empowerment and encouragement. These voices will work within the party to ensure lived experience is felt in CLPs, internal bodies and across our party.

“There always has been, in the Labour movement, a commendable and understandable commitment to tackling poverty in all its guises, and the consequent impact on children and future generations. Sadly, much of the debate has been driven not by those who have experienced the sharp end of prolonged exposure to disadvantage, but rather from those sympathetic from relatively affluent circumstances. Any initiative which frames social justice as part of active citizenship, of bottom-up, not top-down, is to be welcomed.
“Lived experience can inform policy making and practical action in a way which also has the advantage of enhancing democratic participation and seeing off the erstwhile voices of those claiming to speak for working class people, whilst espousing the values of the far right."

“Lisa has been a lifelong campaigner, and in the decade I have known her I have not met anyone more committed to social justice. She is an active member on the National Policy Forum, speaking up for those without a voice, and I know she has the experience and knowledge to make a difference.”
